앨범설명
정통 멜로 영화 국화꽃향기는 클래식한 감성으로 눈물샘을 자극하는 멜로 영화이다. 이러한 맥락을 영화 음악도 동일하게 가져가며 클래식컬하고 아날로그적인 감성을 음악에서 느낄 수 있다. 영화의 메인 테마곡인 성시경의 "희재"는 영화 속 주인공의 이름과 동일한 곡명으로 듣는 이로 하여금 죽음을 바라봐야만 하는 두 주인공의 애절한 영화 속 감성을 그대로 느끼기에 충분하다.
프로듀서 겸 작곡가 MGR이 작곡한 이 곡은 영화 개봉 전 선공개 되어 대중들에게 많은 사랑을 받기도 하였으며 성시경이 부른 또 다른 느낌의 곡 "아날로그"도 들어 볼 수 있다. 이밖에 Perry Como가 부른 "Santa Lucia" 부터 남성듀오 Mark-Almond의 멤버 Jon mark가 1975년 발표한 솔로 앨범에 수록된 "Signal Hill"까지 올드 팝의 감성을 느끼게 하며 재즈 하모니카 연주의 대가 Toots Thielemans의 연주가 담긴 "Old Friend"까지 영화 속 감성을 느끼기에 충분하다. 메인 테마 곡의 대중적 성공과 영화음악 으로서의 역할까지 모두 성공적이었다.
